About Coomera
Coomera, with a current population of around 10,000, has been planned
as a major 21st Century urban community with a population forecast to
rise to 65,000 by around 2025. Plans for Coomera are focused on
achieving the principles of transit-orientated development. For
example, the planned Town Centre (approximately 50 hectares,
highlighted by red stripes and includes
Dreamworld) will be centered on the Coomera railway station.
In the short to medium term, Coomera will offer a wide range of
business opportunities, a variety of housing styles, public transport,
local employment, education facilities and centres that provide a wide
selection of retail, community and recreational opportunities.
Coomera is 54 kms south of Brisbane, 20 km north of Surfers Paradise
on the Pacific Highway and is part of the Gold Coast. The new M1
Motorway, and the Busways into Brisbane along the Southeast Freeway
make living near the corridor an ideal compromise choice for many
thousands of families. Suburbs like Ormeau, Pimpama, Coomera and
Oxenford are the fastest growing suburbs of Gold Coast City, as they
provide easy access in both directions. Coomera is home to world-class
amusement parks, the Gold Coast’s prospering marine industry, as well
as being in close proximity to the growing movie industry.
The Gold Coast Marine Precinct is set to become the marine industry
hub of the southern hemisphere. Some 45ha is already developed with
205ha earmarked for further marine industries. The $30 million Gold
Coast City Marina development already has berths for 30 super yachts,
56 marine factories, 100 hardstand areas, and Australia’s only 150
tonne boatlift. .
